Support
The apiConnect team runs the API gateway and this developer portal. We can help with onboarding new consumers, access and subscription requests, publishing new APIs, and incidents.
Before you contact us
• Check API Status to see whether the API is already degraded or unhealthy. Known issues are being worked on.
• Read Getting started for questions about signing in, subscriptions and keys.
• Need a key? Open the API in the catalog and use the Get a subscription key panel above the operation details.
• For 401 errors, confirm the Ocp-Apim-Subscription-Key header uses a current key and the access token has not expired.
• For 403 errors, confirm your subscription is active and includes the API you are calling.
• For 429 errors, slow down and retry with back-off. You have reached a rate limit.
Contact the apiConnect team
Email dlmklcustomerandagencyservices@markel.com. We respond during Markel business hours.
For a production outage affecting customers, raise a high-priority incident through the Markel IT service desk and reference apiConnect.
What to include
• The API name and the operation you called.
• The environment (dev, qa, uat, mirror or prod).
• The date and time of the request in UTC.
• The HTTP status code and the response request id, if available.
• Your subscription name (never the key itself).
Never send subscription keys, passwords or tokens by email or chat.
Request access or publish an API
To onboard a new application, request access to a restricted product, or publish your own API through apiConnect, email the team with a short description of your use case and the environments you need.
